Programming And Monitoring Wing (PMW)

Macro Planning

Promote coordination and policy alignment in the formulation of medium to long-term national development plans and priorities at the national, sectoral, and sub- national level, by providing technical guidance and capacity building assistance to national and provincial governments, as enabling economic and development analyses that supports medium and long term economic frameworks.

Policy & Budgets

Provide leadership and guidance in national policy reviews and formulation to ensure and promote synergy and inclusive sustainable development around formulated budgets. It is important for policy formulation to guide or align to key plans such as the Vision 2050, DSP 2030, SDGs and MTDP III, sector, provincial, and district development plans. Collaborations and partnership with key government agencies in framing and overseeing implementation of the capital investments budgets is important under this function.

Development Cooperation Management

Strategic leadership, facilitation, coordination and management of development cooperation and partnerships providing the important liaison between the Government of PNG and its Development Partners (DP). DCMD facilitates Government’s intention and plans through the DP’s who are guided into investing their resources into the appropriate sectors thereby creating the financial mechanism for development plans.

Corporate Governance & Compliance

Improved governance and compliance of operational and development activities in accordance with legal and administrative parameters inclusive of the responsibilities of charters the Department is enabled with such as Audits and GESI.

Corporate Service

Practical and proactive administrative and operational support to the Executive Management as well as the technical Divisions in performance of their responsibilities and roles through necessary support in HRM and Training, Personnel, Payroll, Finance, ICT and Administration. The Division is central to managing a performance management system that is essential to government reporting.
