National Projects

The Department of National Planning and Monitoring manages and/or oversees the implementation of some key national programmes, financed through the Capital Investment Budget. These include the:

National Affordable Land and Housing Project (NALHP)

The NALHP is established as a Project Unit in DNPM and headed by a Project Director.

National Water and Sanitation, Hygiene (WaSH) Project

The WaSH Project is established as a Project Unit in DNPM and headed by a Project Director.

Infrastructure Tax Credit Scheme (ITCS)

The management of the ITCS is currently under the ambit of the Economic Sector Division of DNPM.

Scaling Up Nutrition Project

The Nutrition Project currently under the ambit of the Policy and Budgets Division of DNPM.

Census 2024 Project

The Census 2024 project is implemented by the National Statistical Office and the Project Steering Committee is chaired by the Secretary of the Department of National Planning and Monitoring.

Connect PNG Programme

The Connect PNG programme is implemented by the Department of Works and Highways and the Project Steering Committee is chaired by the Secretary of the Department of National Planning and Monitoring.

Consultative Implementation and Monitoring Council (CIMC)

The CIMC project is implemented by the CIMC and the Council meetings are chaired by the Minister for National Planning.

National Authorising Officer Support Unit (NAOSU)

The NAOSU is established as a Project Unit in DNPM and headed by a Project Director.

Open Government Partnership (OGP) Programme

The OGP Programme is overseen by the Policy and Budgets Division of DNPM. A Programme Unit is planned to be set up in 2022 to manage and implement its activities.
